Anette Schaefer, Managing Director
Anette Schaefer is managing director at BIG Picture, a position where she leverages more than two decades of global experience including detailed working knowledge of product and strategy development in the media, advertising, consumer electronics and telecommunications industries.
Before joining BIG Picture, Anette worked as an interim manager and consultant at a European digital media technology, strategy and management consultancy. She has led projects in areas, including: business case development, service creation, benchmarking, commercial due diligence and consumer marketing.
Anette spent four years as director of broadband & media in Yankee Group’s London offices, where she was responsible for EMEA consumer research, client inquiries and consulting. Prior to Yankee Group, Anette was a management consultant in the cable, TV, media and investment industries, working with leading companies in North America and Europe, including Bertelsmann, Disney, NBC Universal and Time Warner. In this role, Anette was involved from concept to implementation in numerous cable television and media M&A projects. She began her career in advertising at McCann Erickson, and has an M.A. in design and communication from the University of Bielefeld.
Daniel Taylor, Chief Research Officer

Daniel Taylor is the chief research officer at BIG Picture where he manages an agenda that places digital media at the center of the converging communications, consumer electronics, media and advertising industries. Equally well-versed in mobility, digital media, IP networking and market research; Daniel has more than 17 years experience working at the highest levels in the ICT and media industries.
Daniel was previously digital media analyst at Yankee Group, director of telecommunications at Aberdeen Group and principal analyst for IP services at Giotto Perspectives. Prior to Yankee Group, he was managing director at the Mobile Enterprise Alliance, where he led membership development and global marketing programs. In 2006, Daniel received an Award of Merit from the Society for New Communications Research for his pioneering use of social media in communications.
He began his career in marketing and product management for digital imaging and mobile video, including roles at Media 100 and Generated Image. Daniel received a BS in Engineering Mechanics from the Johns Hopkins University and has completed doctoral work in Systems Engineering at the University of Pennsylvania.
